Chair (1)

  • one year term
  • sets meeting agendas and chairs meetings
  • develops networking links across Canada
  • helps the External Liaison Officer in connecting with other organizations
  • oversees recruitment of sponsorship for functioning of the Network
  • strikes ad hoc task forces as needed
  • edits/reviews newsletter prior to distribution
  • reviews corporate funding status yearly

Chair Elect (1)

  • one year term
  • assumes the role of Chair in the subsequent year
  • assists the Chair in carrying out his/her responsibilities
  • assumes the role of Chair in his/her absence
  • implements new projects as identified

Secretary /Treasurer (1)

  • responsible for all financial and accounting related activities of the Network
  • provides accurate and complete budget and financial reports
  • evaluates and advises on financial implications of activities and plans
  • makes recommendations to enhance financial performance
  • performs general administrative duties

Communications Coordinator (1)

  • solicits submissions for the RPN newsletter, produced twice yearly (Spring and Winter)
  • disseminates pertinent papers through the RPN newsletter
  • works with the graphics designer in the production of the RPN newsletter
  • coordinates and edits the RPN newsletter and submits the final version to the Website Coordinator for dissemination
  • develops, compiles and summarizes surveys as per the RPN Executive Committee

Education Coordinators (2)

  • responsible for organizing and coordinating (venue booking, catering, registration, announcements, etc.) educational events, i.e. RPN Education Day and local CE events
  • coordinate, in collaboration with the External Liaison Officer, national conferences and meetings, e.g. Canadian Society of Nephrology Annual General Meeting
  • seek ideas for educational topics and speakers
  • ensure contact with speaker is made and letter of confirmation sent to speaker
  • ensure feedback is given to speaker after the conference
  • facilitate the collection and dissemination of clinical and educational materials to members

External Liaison Officer(1)

  • links the RPN with other organizations such as the Canadian Kidney Knowledge Translation Generation and Network (CANN-NET), Canadian Society of Nephrology (CSN), and National Kidney Foundation (NKF)
  • drafts letters of support to renal agencies such as the National Kidney Foundation and Ontario Renal Network
  • solicits industry sponsorship for the Network

Website Coordinator (1)

  • responsible for updates to the RPN website, e.g. posting of presentations and keeping the calendar of events up-to-date
  • monitors activity on the RPN website, e.g. spam postings to the discussion forums
  • communicates with the website management company any changes required to the website and reviews updates made to the website by the website management company
  • liaises between the website management company and the RPN Executive Committee regarding the cost of any updates to the website as well as quarterly invoices for ongoing costs
  • sends out mass emails to RPN members
