IV push meds during hemo

For IV push meds to be given during a session, which port do your nurses use? There is some discussion here as to whether the venous drip chamber infusion port is best (re:minimizing needle stick injuries) or the venous port closer to the patient which is where they give EPO (for reasons of adherence to the chamber wall?) Any info re:your policies and procedures would be appreciated.
