acdc/citrate protocol

I think many units are beginning to use the 4% citrate solution down central line lumens post hemodialysis to maintain patency in patients who are HIT+ and I am interested in finding more about this. Also very interested to find out if patients are using in for "full anticoagulation" in place of machine heparin during the hemodialysis run or during CRRT/Prisma therapy. Do you run Calcium solution into the machine before the blood returns to the patient??

I have a little bit of info on it but would appreciate protocols/guidelines if any have been developed.

Thanks,

Jen Brick
