cinacalcet coverage

Hello everyone,
We have just gotten the (bad) news that cinacalcet (Sensipar) will not be covered by our provinical drug reimbursement plan ( RAMQ) here in Quebec. The gouvernment argument being that there was no longitudinal studies on vascular calcification nor studies on mortality. What is the status on re-imbursement in Ontario ( or other provinces) ? Looks like only patients with private insurance plans will be candidates for this drug for some time. Amgen doesn't seem to be keen on a compassionate program status for this drug either. Their bread and butter product being Aranesp!
