IP Administration

Hi everyone,

Just wondering how people add their IP antibiotics? Do they add them directly to the PD bag? We currently attach an effluent sample bag and have a pt drain off 200mL of their Dianeal and add the antibiotic to this and then drain it manually back into the pt (approx 2min).

We had a pt react after receiving 2g vanco this way and I am concerned it was an 'infusion/rate' reaction.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We are considering changin our administration technique.
