MDRD vs C-G Drug Dose Adjustments
Submitted by calissip on Thu, 2008-10-23 09:49
Like many labs across the country, our lab will soon have the ability to autoreport the e-GFR using the MDRD Eqn. As our pharmacists currently use the C-G eqn. to est. the GFR in order to adjust medication doses in renal failure, we decided to evaluate the evidence supporting MDRD and C-G for this purpose. (not much for either)
Which eqn. are pharmacists in your institution using for est. GFR for in order to adjust doses in RF? If your lab autoreports the MDRD e-GFR, how is this information used? Thanks
