sodium polystyrene in sorbitol

Hi Everyone.
Just wondering if other institutions are using sodium polystyrene in sorbitol either orally or rectally. There are reports in the literature where its use has been associated with intestinal necrosis, especially in uremic patients.
If your institution uses these products, are there any restrictions? Or does your institution avoid it altogether. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
