Kayexalate

We seem to use a lot of kayexalate in our Pre dialysis clinic. I am curious to know if anyone else out there uses lots for maintainance of normokalemia. I am beginning to worry about the sodium load on patients using regular doses of kayexalate, and whether it might not be a better idea to put them on low doses of furosemide instead.

Welcome to the new format of the discussion area. In this forum you can post any questions related to your Pre-Dialysis patients.

Come aboard, ask questions!

For starters: What is the format of various units in servicing their Pre-Dialysis patients.

Our centre uses a physician driven referral system - and I've found that if I am in the Clinic, I get more referrals than if I happen to meet up with the team at later venues.

Any comments?
